On Wednesday 29th July, twelve members joined the 10 mile walk from Chilham, via Shalmsford Street and Nickle Farm with a picnic lunch at Chartham Hatch. Tables and chairs were organised for everyone but all chose to sit on the grass in the shade of the trees to enjoy their picnic and rest from the blazing sun. Then on to Denstroude and Joan Beech Woods for some welcome shade. The last leg was via Lower Ensden, Old Wives Lees and downs Long Hill back to Chilham. Even though the temperature was exhausting, it was a fabulous walk.
