We started the 15th July’s leisurely 6 miler from Chilham Village and walked via Godmersham House. All went well until we encountered a flooded lane at the bottom of a slope where a water main was leaking and creating a “ford” in the dip of the road. How to neogiate it? One went through it, one went beside it but most climbed a fence to skirt round it. All routes had their risk! It added a flavour of adventure to this most enjoyable walk.
